Great Mother’s Day gift ideas for 2015

In some ways, Mother’s Day presents are the hardest to buy. How do you find something that your mum will want or need, and that is special enough to show her how much you appreciate her? It can be a challenge, but here are some ideas to get you thinking…

Sweets, treats and grown-up drinks

When you’re trying to find a present for the mum who has everything, the best policy is to go with something edible. Choose her favourite indulgence, be it chocolate-covered Brazil nuts or the finest bottle of Pinot Noir you can afford. It might not be as imaginative a gift as you’d like, but you know that she will love it and that it will be enjoyed. Don’t overthink it – just buy a treat you know she likes and wouldn’t normally buy for herself. Remember that Mother’s Day is supposed to be about treating your mum to something special, so make sure you don’t skimp on the budget!

Memorable experiences

We all have far too much ‘stuff’, so why not give your mum the gift of a fantastic experience and some quality time spent with you instead of filling her cupboards with unwanted items. There are lots of things you can do together, from hitting the shops (she can even pick out a present while you’re there) to enjoying a family pamper day. Whatever you do, a delicious lunch is a must. If you’re in Leeds, a Mother’s Day lunch at Weetwood Hall on 15th March could be just the ticket.

Personalise it

Does your mum need a new mug for her coffee, or perhaps a new calendar for her desk at work? If so, this is the perfect gift to get her – but don’t just buy any old thing. There are plenty of websites which allow you to personalise a whole range of presents from key rings to cushions and art work, so you add her name or a special message from you to her. You’ll be buying her something she needs, but with that extra personal touch that makes it really special.

Spend Mother’s Day in Leeds this year

You’ll find that there are lots of things to do on Mother’s Day in Yorkshire, but if you’d like a venue with a touch of class, and fantastic food made from locally sourced ingredients, visit the Woodlands Suite at Weetwood Hall. There’s a delicious carvery lunch with roast Yorkshire spring lamb and even a baked fillet of sea bass on the menu, a choice of indulgent puds, and even a special gift for all the deserving mums in the party. If you like, you can even book an overnight stay the night before, heading into nearby Leeds city centre for some shopping with the Mother’s Day meal the following day.

If you’re looking to really treat your mum this year, Weetwood Hall is definitely the place to do it.
